All the important information

Purchasing

All the work you see on the site is custom made for each client and illustrates the range of products that can be commissioned. No prices are shown because there are many variables which effect the price of each piece. If you see something you are interested in or have an idea or picture of a piece you are thinking about purchasing, the best thing to do is to send a note through the contact page, I will reply quickly, ask for the information that I need to be able to give you a ballpark price and we can begin a discussion from there.

Custom furniture costs more than commercially produced furniture, but it will last a lifetime.  I can make you exactly what you want with materials you will be happy to have in your home.

Material Care

Wood is a natural product that has been used for centuries for interior furnishings, and over that time many different finishes have been used to treat wood and make it impervious to water. If you spill any liquid on your furniture it should be wiped up immediately. We don't recommend leaving any water filled vessel on wood furniture for any length of time, as sweating glass (or pumpkin centre pieces as it turns out) can lead to rings.

Today we use low VOC (Volitile Organic Compound) finishes to help maintain excellent indoor air quality. Our go-to product for a natual finish is Rubio Monocoat - a product developed in Europe with a 0 VOC rating. It requires very little maintenance - just a quick wipe with a damp cloth.

Wood will expand and contract with fluctuations in humidity, so you may notice changes in gap sizes or overlaps, this is normal and a hallmark of "real wood". Nevertheless as trained furniture makers we take this into account when producing quality pieces and make an effort to minimalize the expected effects of natural conditions.

We stand behind our work - if you have any concerns - let us know, we will fix it - period.

The Design Process

Designing a piece of furniture is an exciting thing. My mission is to provide you with the best piece I can produce within your budget. Your input is important and the jumping off place for me. I will provide drawings and samples of materials for you and allow you opportunity for feedback. It can be a very fluid experience.
